Two Re-appointed to Fish Restoration and Enhancement Board

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife  — 1/19/2006

SALEM - The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission at its January meeting in Salem re-appointed Darlene Kline-Dolby and Bob Mullong to second four-year terms on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Fish Restoration and Enhancement Board.

The R&E Board advises the Commission on awarding grants that improve fishing opportunities throughout the state. The R&E Program was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1989. Funds for grants are derived from a surcharge on sport and commercial fishing licenses and commercial poundage fees.

Kline-Dolby, of Eugene, is retired from U.S. West. She is a member of the Cascade Family Fly Fishers, Federation of Fly Fishers and the Emerald Empire Chapter of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders. She also is active with the ODFW Salmon Trout Enhancement Program and is an ODFW certified angling education instructor. She is appointed to represent sport-fishing.

Bob Mullong lives in Bend and is a former member of ODFW's Salmon Trout Enhancement Program Advisory Board. He is affiliated with the Central Oregon Flyfishers and has been involved in numerous educational and habitat projects involving fish and fishing throughout the area. He represents the public-at-large.

Other members of the R&E Board include Terry Learned of Cloverdale, representing the troll fishing industry, Dick Hellberg of Warrenton, who represents gillnet fishing, seafood processing industry representative John Wilson of Gold Beach and sport angler representatives Charles Lang of Salem and Thomas Gilg of Shedd.

For more information on the Fish Restoration and Enhancement Program, or to view information regarding current R&E Program applications, contact program coordinator Laura Tesler at (503) 947-6259 or visit www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/RE.
