August 31, 2005 - Fishing isn't just for the boys anymore! An amazing statistic is that 11.9 million women age seven and older fish. That's more than the number who participate in jogging, basketball, volleyball, softball, golf or tennis. Women spend on average $246 per year for trip-related fishing expenses and $70 per year on fishing equipment for a total of $3 billion. Women definitely impact the fishing industry with participation and purchases.
The website is the only online interactive venue exclusively for women bass anglers. Future plans call for feature stories authored by guest writers and "Meet the Lady Bass Angler" forum showcasing the profiles of both amateur and professional female bass anglers. www.ladybassangler.com is for women who love to fish for bass and everyone is welcome from novice to pro.

As the number of women fishing steadily increases, new venues are on the horizon. B.A.S.S. has recently announced the newly created Women's Bassmaster Tour and Bass'N Gals Outdoors, another new tour, has announced that their first tournament will be on Florida's Lake Seminole in September. Both of these tours will draw anglers on a national level. The website will have information and schedules of local and professional women's bass tournaments. It will be a central meeting point for all lady bass anglers.
